Assassin's Creed 2

Yo yo yo!

It's me again back in blogging and this time I will be blabbing about Assassin's Creed 2, the upcoming game from Ubisoft which is the sequel of Assassin's Creed which proven to be successful and many people will be anticipating the second edition of this game.

This time, Desmond Miles isn't playing the role of Altair anymore, this time Desmond Miles will be playing the role of his another ancestor which turns out to be another assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Judging from his name, I'm sure most people will realize that the location of Assassin's Creed 2 will be different from the first one, which will be in Italy. For some people who never play the first game, Desmond Miles is a bartender kidnapped by a laboratory conducting research into genetic memory. Basically, a machine called Animus is used to resurrect the memory of Desmond's ancestor and the company is using him for their own purpose. For those who haven't played the game, I suggest you do so as not only the story is amazing, the gameplay is wonderful, graphic is terrific, it will build foundation on what Assassin's Creed 2 is about. Side quest might get a bit repetitive but that doesn't even tarnish the reputation of this wonderful game. Fancy being an Assassin but you don't want to kill anyone in real life? This game is your answer, it perfectly illustrate how an assassin collect information from various sources before move to strike his target. Being an assassin does not mean that you will always escape safely from your pursuer, once you alerted the attention of the guard, it is up to you on how you going to get away from your pursuer. On Assassin's Creed, you can either hide in a hiding spot provided, like some sort of small guard post or you can also hide in the haystack and you have to do either of this when no guard is around to see you hiding on those spots. On Assassin's Creed 2, even hiding in the haystack doesn't mean that the guard won't check on the haystacks, the guards are smarter but the new feature will involve taking out guard while you are hiding on haystacks, giving Ezio a slight advantage over annoying guard that will be searching for him.

If you are interested in buying the game, I suggest that you pre-order this game and get the black edition. Not only you will get a cool cd case but also there will be extra missions added when you pre-order the black edition. Here are the extra contents that will come with the black edition:

  • Rare “Master Assassin” upgrade Ezio figurine: This highly collectible figurine produced in limited quantities introduces a unique and powerful design of upgraded Assassin cloak that Ezio will only access in the advanced stages of the adventure.
  • 3 in-game bonus quests: Enter and explore the Renaissances most prestigious monuments to reveal mysterious unique artifacts hidden within their walls:
  1. Palazzo Medicis in Florence
  2. Santa Maria Dei Frari In Venice
  3. Arsenal Shipyard Warehouse In Venice
  • Conspiracy book: This unique piece of art regroups exclusive development team insights on the game art, story and background, revealing secret faces of the Assassin’s Creed overarching conspiracy. The 64 pages book comes with finely crafted leather style hardcover and parchment finish pages.
  • Game Soundtrack by Jesper Kyd (British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominee for “2009 Best original score in a game”)
  • All videos, behind-the-scene interviews and e-goodies about Assassin’s Creed II
  • Collectible black packaging featured with unique authenticity holographic signature.

As you can see, it will be worth the money if you decide to pre-order the black edition. Price will be varied in different countries, but as I am living in Perth, based on EB Games, the price of the Black Edition is $149.95, quite pricey for a game but I can assure you it will be worth the money.
Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 are 3 games that I think will fill your time during the last few months of this year before we are anticipating more games in 2010, this 3 are wonderful games with different genre and as I stated, Assassin's Creed 2 is one of them. Hopefully this little review can help you make up your mind in buying the game or even make you interested in the game if you haven't heard of the game before. I posted 2 youtube videos, one is the trailer of the game and the other one is the gameplay to give you more visual of what the game is going to be. See you on my next post on this blog, Dhijan out!

Topsy Turvy Football and Game

YO!

I've been a lazy ass blogger and for that I should condemned myself...nahh..just found some excitement back in blogging again. Last time I blogged it was about top 10s. Now I will write more review about game, football, maybe music and entertainment as well.

Manchester Derby and Controversy
First of all, I will discuss about Football. One of the most famous sport in the world known for its beautiful game and controversy as well. Man Utd vs Man City derby is one of the most exciting derby I've ever seen, to have it ended with a last minute Owen strike...spectacular! Given has done whatever he can to stop any Manchester United attack, but he was powerless to stop Owen strike in the last minute of the stoppage time. A finishing which will remind everyone of what Owen capable of.
Overall the derby is excellent in terms of football but it left some bitter taste regarding post-match incident between Bellamy and a fan also the referee decision to prolong the injury time in the 2nd half due to Man U subs and injury which then allows Owen to score the winner on the Manchester derby that day.

This is what football is all about; excitement, fantastic football game and controversy. As much as we like less controversy, football has never been separated from controversy. Take for example on how Real Madrid and Man City spend their money on the transfer window has make many people shouting about the unfairness of football. Michel Platini has plan to impose a rule where a club may only spend what they earn. It's not like I am against overspending in football which could affect smaller clubs in the leagues, but I think what City and Madrid did is not wrong as they have the financial backup to do it. Hate them as much as they want, money will always be a key element in football and clubs should just concentrate on their own transfer business rather than bemoaning City and Madrid, when you lose your transfer target to clubs with more money, you can always find alternative, especially when the club has excellent scouts. Youngster and Home Grown player development sometimes is forgotten when money is sitting down in the vault waiting to be spent. Despite failures of winning major trophy in the last few seasons, Arsenal has shown that youngster can developed into good players if they are given chances and enough playing time to do that. Not only your club may benefited from their performance, there is also a sense of pride when your academy graduate is successful and being called up to the national team, this is what Man City and Madrid lacking of right now and other clubs may look into these possibilities.

The Bat and The Beatles
Now into other topic, which is gaming. Yay! Recently one of my friend purchased Rock Band Beatles and I must say that I am impressed with the new drum hardware which will be released for Rock Band 2 as well. It makes less sound everytime you hit it, reducing the annoying sounds that came out when you play using Rock Band 1 drum. The graphic is good, the gameplay is interesting and I will certainly recommend this game to play with your buddies or family.

Another recent game that I finished is Batman : Arkham Asylum. This game put the Gotham Dark Knight in the middle of the freaks and lunatics that Batman has arrested, in Arkham Asylum. This time Joker has the masterplan with Arkham Asylum and manage to lure Batman into it by getting himself caught by the hands of Batman before releasing himself and taking over the Asylum and branded it as Joker Asylum. If you are a big fan of Batman, you can expect to see few of his dangerous foes in this game such as, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Joker of course, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and many others. The only downside of this game is the playing hours is still a bit short as I want to enjoy this magnificent game longer than it was designed. Give me more Batmann!!! You can download Joker challenge map from PlayStation Store and play as Joker in the challenge mode, something that I haven't try and I will try it soon! So overall Arkham Asylum ratings are;

Gameplay - 9.5
Graphic and Sounds - 9
Longetivity - 6
Story - 8.5
Side quests/missions - 7.5
Downloadable Content - 9 (Play as Joker!!)
